In this artwork, the artist has represented the personification of deception. It's a compelling image and the viewer would be forgiven for succumbing to her alluring smile and her mesmerizing gaze, but one instinctively feels there are hidden motives behind her seductive facade, and indeed there is, on closer inspection we see that her face is a mask knitted with vine over what appears to be the scales of reptilian skin.
