'The Madonna Of The Atonement' initially appears to be a simple religious image with modern elements inspired by Rapphaello Sanzio da Urbino, the great Italian painter of the high renaissance, on closer inspection however, we see that the artist is trying to convey a much deeper narrative.
The Virgin and Child are reading 'Homo Deus', a book written by the Israeli author Yuval Noah Harari, that suggests one day eternal life may be attained through transhumanist technologies, and death will be averted through technological advancement. The telecommunication transmitter, shaped as a cross with five buildings at it's base, alludes to the Crucifixion and reminds us that Christ died as atonement for our sins, but also indicates that science itself, although in many ways attempting to disregard religion, has itself become the new religion.
