This portfolio consists of the preliminary oil studies that John Afflick produces for his finished artworks. They are created using various techniques that will realise quickly the artists goal. They are predominantly works on prepared paper, blocked in with egg tempera, sealed using traditional methods and then overpainted in oil. It is a beautiful, free and spontaneous approach that gives a wonderful vitality to the artwork.
