John Afflick often borrows from the history of art to tell his story or to portray a narrative he wishes to communicate with the viewer, in the case of 'Holy Water ?', it is Raphael's 'The Madonna di San Sito'.
Is it water that the Christ Child has in his pistol? or as Mathew notes, does it carry another element?

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Matthew 3:11 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)

Has he come as a leader of a heavenly realm with an army of angelic beings arriving in their 'chariots of fire' ? or has he come to protect and defend us from the ungodly advance of a more sinister technological force ?
Again we are left with more questions than answers.
